T-SHIRT SIZING & QUALITY
Our t-shirts are made using Bella Canvas 3001 blank shirts. These unisex shirts are made from 100% Airlume combed and ringspun cotton, famous for its lightness, softness, and durability.
Bella Canvas 3001 solid colors are 100% cotton. Blended and heather colors combine cotton and polyester to increase the shirt’s lifespan.
A TAILORED FIT
However, please note these shirts are tailored and contour form fitting, meaning they may be snug on some people and won't look overly baggy when you wear it. If you are a borderline size fit or prefer a slightly looser fit, consider ordering up one size from what you normally wear.
CONSISTENT UNISEX SIZING
Bella Canvas uses automated laser-guided cutting to ensure consistent sizing in every single t-shirt. Precise shirt cuts reduce fabric waste, consistent with Bella Canvas's sustainability goals.
The Bella Canvas 3001 unisex sizing comes in a wide selection, ranging from XS to 5XL, although not every color/design is available in every size. Here are the exact length and width measurements for each size.
SHRINK PREVENTION
Garments made from cotton are prone to shrinkage because natural fibers want to go back to their original form after being placed under tension. When a t-shirt is exposed to heat from hot water or a dryer, the tension is released, and the fibers shrink back to their natural state.
To minimize shrinkage, Bella Canvas subjects cotton to the shrinking process before cutting the garment. This includes stretching the fabric width-wise to reduce the tension created from the length-wise spinning process. In the drying process, garments are subjeced to hot air blowers agitate the fabric, prompting the cotton to return to its inherent state, causing it to shrink and dry. Compactors steam the ring-spun cottom fabric to reduce its length, shortening the fabric before it is cut.
ETHICAL & SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING
We also like Bella Canvas because the company is committed to ethical and sustainable manufacturing. They don’t work with sweatshops when creating their products. To reduce waste, Bella Canvas uses an energy recycling system during the fabric dyeing and drying stages. This allows the company to collect and recycle energy, which is then used to dye additional fabric. Their operations are designed to use as little water as possible. The small amount of wastewater generated is sent to a cutting-edge water reclamation plant for responsible processing.
